The Deal

The deal was the same as always—

four weeks prep, two weeks shoot,

one week post, one day (to be

decided)  for the dub—though the

two weeks was actually nine days, which

figured as it seemed to

mimic my life with

four decades spent learning to

do all this stuff, two to

put it into practice—but minus

aggrevating amounts of time—then a

decade trying to make sense of it all, with

someone else having the last word, and a

day ( to be decided)

set aside for remembrance because

death is so disconcerting.

I like how your poem is organized by the numbers and spans, the lilts and unexpected repetitions of your metre.

Does TV work ever run smoothly lol?! I’m assuming this is what the poem is about.
